Viewing Locations
Isla Blanca Park - SPI
Isla Blanca Park is the southernmost portion of South Padre Island and the most popular location to watch the Starship launches. Visitors will have access to parking, restrooms, BBQ grills, and have plenty of space to place a chair and chill.

Sapphire Condos - SPI
The Sapphire Condominiums offers spectacular views of the Starship rockets launches from the balconies, especially for any condo that directly faces south. The image taken above was taken from the balcony of Sapphire Condo 2904.

Old Causeway - Port Isabel
The Old Causeway is a fairly recent location that opened up to the general public. It is located in Port Isabel, just take a left after going over the swing bridge; right before the gates to Long Island Village.

Long Island Village
Long Island Village is a small community located across the swing bridge in Port Isabel, Texas. The best locations to watch/photograph are from the sea cottages located on E Scallopy with south-facing balconies.

Highway 48
=Highway 48 is another great alternative for those that don't want to get stuck in any traffic at Isla Blanca Park or on the causeway crossing back to Port Isabel. There is a boat ramp and plenty of spaces to park between there and Port Isabel. Just pay attention for all the LNG construction crews.

Tarpon Haven Dr. - Starbase
Tarpon Haven Rd. is the closest any regular civilian can view the Starship launches without a personal invitation from Elon Musk to watch from their facilities. This is a pay-to-play viewing location with rates around $150-$200 per person that is paid to places like Raptor Roost, Rocket Ranch, etc. It is an overall great experience being there and worth the price if visiting from far away. The new launch tower will bring a much better angle to watch/photograph launches!

Playa Bagdad, Mexico
Watching a Starship rocket launch from Playa Bagdad is definitely an adventure and the BEST angle to capture images/video of Starship Rocket launches, especially with the new tower facing directly towards Playa Bagdad! I have photographed IFT 1, 2, & 3 so far from this location and enjoyed each time. We were able to be right at the mouth of the Rio Grande River and only 3 miles away. New restrictions placed by the Mexican government put people back by 1 mile from the river.
Being south of the rocket allows it to always be well lit by the sun; and with predominant SE winds, keeps the smoke north.

Additional Information
Weather & Air Clarity
There are several factors that can create hazy conditions and affect the clarity of the air in the space between you and the Starship. The ideal conditions are right after a cold front. The cool and dry air make it crystal clear.
Another factor to look out for is heat distortion. It occurs when sunlight heats the ground, causing, air layers of varying densities to mix and refract light, which results in soft, wavy, or blurry images when shooting through this air with a long telephoto lens.
