The Southernmost Beach on South Padre Island

Take the first right after getting off the Queen Isabella Causeway and reaching South Padre Island. Go all the way straight until you reach the entry gates of Isla Blanca Park. Entry fee is $12.00 per standard vehicle. 30 / 90 day and year passes are also available.

The Boardwalk

Discover the natural beauty of the Gulf Coast from the recently renovated boardwalk at Isla Blanca Park, one of South Padre Island’s most scenic locations. Stretching along the coastline between the parking lots, this elevated pathway offers breathtaking views of the ocean, dunes, and local wildlife. It is ideal for leisurely strolls or peaceful reflection, the boardwalk lets visitors fully embrace the island’s serene atmosphere.

With its easy access to the beach and panoramic vistas, the boardwalk is a great way to take a stroll while enjoying the sound of the waves and seagulls.

2 Oceanfront Pavilions

The newly renovated pavilions at Isla Blanca Park bring modern comfort and style to one of South Padre Island’s favorite beachfront locations. These refreshed spaces are perfect for gatherings, events, or a relaxing day by the shore, offering a blend of updated amenities with stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico.

Designed with both function and beauty in mind, the pavilions provide shaded seating areas, upgraded restrooms, and convenient access to nearby picnic spots, grills, and the beach. Whether you’re hosting a family reunion, a casual get-together, or simply looking for a comfortable spot to unwind, the renovated pavilions make your beach experience even more enjoyable.

Perfect for Swimming in the Gulf

Thanks to the protective jetties, the waters at Isla Blanca Park generally remain calm and inviting throughout the year and especially during the months of June through October—perfect for a relaxing and refreshing dip in the water.

However, while the gentle waves are ideal for wading and swimming, it’s important to stay cautious. Currents and tides can still pose risks, especially for those who aren’t strong swimmers. Always stay close to shore, follow posted safety guidelines, and never swim alone for a safe and enjoyable experience.

The Beach at Dolphin Cove

Take a left from Highway 4 and you will find your self driving north towards the jetties at Boca Chica Beach, which are approximately 5 miles north of Highway 4.  This is a popular spot for families and  fishermen throughout the year, and surfers when the swell direction is out of the north.  It is highly recommended that you have a 4WD vehicle and closely monitor the tides if you plan on visiting here.

South Padre Island, Texas and the ship channel are clearly visible from this location, and overnight camping and bonfires are allowed.

Most Popular Spot to Watch SpaceX’s Starship Launches

For a front-row seat to history, Isla Blanca Park offers the best vantage point to witness the awe-inspiring Starship rocket launches. With its clear views across the water toward SpaceX’s Boca Chica launch site, this park is the perfect place for space enthusiasts to gather and experience the excitement of space exploration. Bring your camera, set up your spot, and get ready for a truly out-of-this-world show!
